What is the Lighthouse Project?
The Lighthouse Project, is a new initiative launched in 2016. The initiative brings together the local business community to help the Evergreen Care Trust in supporting hundreds of members across Stamford, Bourne & The Deepings.
Our members experience loneliness, isolation, physical and mental health illnesses or serious daily issues that sometimes make it just too hard to cope alone.
They simply need someone to care about the little things that make a big difference to their every day life.

How we help your community...
The Evergreen Care Trust provide a wide range of support services to make life easier and more enjoyable for its members. The majority of services we offer are free of charge and are supported by an incredible team of volunteers who give endless hours to make a huge difference to the lives of so many.
Every member is offered a suite of services that can radically change their outlook, from Advocacy for members who may be worried, confused or unable to represent their views as they would like to, to Befriending, a lifeline for those who may otherwise become isolated and depressed, or sending in our Clean Team when day-to-day tasks have become difficult to manage.
The Trust also run: a popular weekly Friendship Lunch enabling our members to enjoy each other's company over a home-cooked, three course meal, regular Hand & Nail Pamper Care sessions as a relaxing treat and a calendar of varied social events so that there's always something to look forward to throughout the year.
Where it all began...
Working with a group of volunteers from across the local churches, the Evergreen Care Trust founder Louise Marsh formed a grass-roots initiative responding to identified needs of adults experiencing periods of vulnerability in their lives, which unfortunately did not fall within the remit of statutory health and social care agencies.
Louise Marsh has worked within the Older Persons Team in Stamford Social Services and is a formerly registered nurse specialised in gerontology and geriatrics and established the Evergreen Care Trust in Stamford, Lincolnshire back in May 2005.

What you can do to help...
On a national level, cuts to Health and Social Care budgets have had a huge impact on the most vulnerable in our society; when budgets are stretched, people 'fall through the net'. The demand for Evergreen Care Trust services continues to grow and we are aware that by identifying gaps in local service provision and working in partnership with relevant support agencies, we are uniquely placed to help those in the local community who are most likely to 'fall through that net'.
The Evergreen Care Trust alreadyrepresents an essential lifeline to many members across Stamford, Bourne and The Deepings. We need your support to help us offer peace of mind and a better quality of life to those who need it most. Thank you.
